We have previously explained that suicide is a grave sin and a major crime, and it can never be a solution to a problem; rather, it is the greatest of afflictions and transfers a person from one distress to a greater distress. The person who commits suicide will be tortured by the means he used to commit suicide, unless Allah forgives him and overlooks his sin.
