According to the Maliki school of thought, is it permissible to rent out books for a daily fee, or for a monthly/annual subscription that allows the beneficiary to read whatever books they wish?

The Maliki school of thought holds that renting and selling religious books is disliked (makruh), whereas al-Lakhmi considers it permissible due to people's need for them. Renting a library for reading is permissible, and the rent becomes obligatory upon enabling the lessee to benefit from it. The rent is to be paid in advance if specified, stipulated, or customary.
