Is it permissible to pay zakat to my fiancée – to whom I am already religiously married by contract (aqd) – for her university tuition fees, and is it permissible to pay it three months in advance of its due date?

It is not permissible to give zakat to one's wife to cover her university tuition expenses, except under certain conditions: if she is seeking religious knowledge from which people are expected to benefit, or knowledge that falls under the category of communal obligations (furood al-kifayat), then it is permissible to give her zakat.

It is permissible for the ruler (wali al-amr) or their representative to give a student of religious knowledge from the "fi sabilillah" (in the way of Allah) share of zakat what assists them in their studies, if they are dedicated to it.

The majority of scholars permit advancing zakat before its due date (hawl).
