What is the ruling on the emission of wet fluid and the sensation of trembling and contractions during romantic and sexual conversations with the fiancé? Is ghusl obligatory, or is wudu' sufficient? What necessitates ghusl?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The suitor and the fiancée are strangers to each other, and such talk between them is not permissible except out of necessity. However, if the engagement is intended as a marriage contract, then there is no harm in the husband speaking with his wife. The fluid discharged could be maniy (semen) or madhiy (pre-seminal fluid). To distinguish between them and learn their rulings, please refer to Fatwa No. 115854. Also, please review the acts that necessitate ghusl (ritual bath) in Fatwa No. 44028. We advise you to persist in supplication and humility, distract yourself from obsessive thoughts, consult a trusted psychiatrist, and you may also refer to the consultations section on this website.
