Is it permissible for my wife and me to pray in congregation, and who leads us in prayer?

Performing congregational prayers for the obligatory (fard) prayers in the mosque is superior. However, whoever performs them congregationally outside the mosque has attained the virtue of the congregation, according to the majority of scholars. As for performing supererogatory (nafl) prayers congregationally with one's family, there is no harm in it. It must be known that the adhan (call to prayer) and imamate (leading the prayer) for a man are his prerogative; thus, it is not permissible for a woman to give the adhan or lead a man in prayer.
