It is obligatory for the wife to honor her disbelieving mother. The wife has done well in maintaining ties with her family and showing them the virtues of Islam.
The husband has the right to prevent his wife and children from visiting the wife's disbelieving mother, or to prevent her from visiting them, or to prevent her from being alone with the children, if he fears that she might corrupt them.
