Will the whispers of the soul and Satan be recorded in the scrolls of deeds and presented to the servant, knowing that they do not lead to accountability for the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and what is the situation of other nations that may be held accountable for them?

Scholars have differed on whether everything a person does is recorded in their book of deeds, or if only actions that entail reward or punishment are recorded. Some said that even groans are recorded, while others said that only what earns reward or incurs sin is recorded.

The verse "Or do they think that We do not hear their secrets" (Qur’an 43:80) indicates that Allah hears inner thoughts (hadith an-nafs) and that the حافظة (recording angels) write them down.

Being held accountable for obsessive thoughts (waswasa) and inner thoughts (hadith an-nafs) was among the burdens (asar) placed upon the Jews and Christians.

Allah the Almighty is not questioned about what He does, while they (His creation) will be questioned. Knowing whether inner thoughts are recorded or not, and which nations were held accountable for obsessive thoughts, are not matters that a Muslim needs for their worship.
