Is it permissible for a daughter to ask her father for money, claiming need, and then send it to her mother without the father's knowledge?
A woman who is irrevocably divorced ( bain) is not entitled to maintenance (nafaqa) or lodging (sukna) unless she is pregnant, in which case she is entitled to maintenance for the pregnancy. She is permitted to take this maintenance from the husband's money, without his knowledge, within reasonable bounds. What the sister is doing—taking extra money beyond her needs, claiming it is for her mother, is a forbidden act and is considered consuming people's wealth unlawfully, as it involves lying and taking money without the owner's willing consent. The sister must repent and return the money to her father, or inform him and ask for his forgiveness.
