Is Satan's aim through his discouraging and confusing whispers – whether in studies by making a person feel deficient or excessively superior, or in prayer by portraying it as death – to push the Muslim to abandon good deeds and cease excelling in them?

Satan strives to grieve believers and divert them from what is beneficial for them. Therefore, a Muslim must beware of his plots and whispers, and not allow him to cast whispers of death or despair that distance him from his Lord and prevent his excellence.

A Muslim should strive, rely on Allah, and seek His help, and thank Allah for the blessings of excellence and quick memorization. He should also endeavor to pursue the means of success, such as observing obligatory prayers, increasing in supererogatory acts, keeping company with the righteous, performing dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and making supplications.

Whenever Satan's whispers arise, a Muslim should seek refuge in Allah and proceed on his path, seeking Allah's help and entrusting his affairs to Him.
