Is it obligatory to prostrate excessively for forgetfulness (sujood as-sahw) due to doubt and whisperings (waswasah) concerning the recitation of Al-Fatiha or the validity of the prayer, or should one abandon these whisperings and not prostrate?

One must disregard the whispers of Satan and pay no attention to them. If Satan whispers to a worshiper that he has made a mistake in recitation or omitted an act of prayer, he should not pay attention to this whisper. It is not prescribed for one afflicted by whispers to perform the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw); rather, he should ignore the whispers and complete his prayer without performing the prostration of forgetfulness until Allah Almighty grants him healing. This is because excessive doubt, to the point of becoming a whisper, necessitates discarding and ignoring it.
