Procreation is one of the objectives of marriage and it is a shared right between the spouses. There is no harm in agreeing to delay or regulate it for a beneficial reason. We advise against delaying procreation out of fear of financial hardship, for Allah is the Provider, and the sustenance of the fetus is decreed while it is in its mother's womb. If the husband has taken out a usurious loan, he has fallen into usury, which is one of the gravest major sins, and he must repent.
