Is marriage an unalterable decree or a suspended one? Does supplication change what is written and bring about marriage to a specific person? And is the husband's name written and unchangeable?

Allah ordained the measures of all things fifty thousand years before the creation of the heavens and the earth, and everything a person does is predetermined before his birth. Divine decree (Qada') is of two types: Mubram (irrevocable), which is the eternal destiny that does not change, and Mu'allaq (suspended), which is what is written in the angels' scrolls and can change through supplication (Du'a) and charity (Sadaqah). Marriage falls under these two types, and supplication changes the suspended decree, not the irrevocable one. The servant should supplicate for all good, as he does not know what has been destined for him.
