What is the ruling on befriending a frequently cursing person who slanders people's honor, and has been admonished but does not desist?

The upright Sharia has urged the selection of righteous company and the avoidance of associating with evil people, because such association leads to the corruption of one's religion. Sins are an ill omen and a cause for the servant's destruction in this world and the hereafter. Associating with and valuing people of sin draws one into their wrongdoing, for "A person is on the religion of his intimate friend, so let each of you look at whom he befriends." It is not permissible to intentionally watch gatherings of abominable acts without necessity. A Muslim must denounce them, or is obligated to leave the gathering. Forsaking people of sin and innovators is obligatory, for Allah Almighty said: {then do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, if you did, you would then be like them}. It is absolutely impermissible to associate with transgressors, as scholars have explicitly stated its prohibition. Association is only valid with those who obey Allah, due to the sin it entails that harms a person.
