What is the status of patience (sabr) in Islam? And what should a Muslim be patient about?

Belief in divine decree (Qada') and destiny (Qadar) is one of the pillars of faith. Everything that befalls a person is predetermined by Allah and inscribed in the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz). Patience in the face of calamities is a noble quality, and its outcome is praiseworthy, for those who are patient will be given their reward without reckoning. Every calamity is a good for the believer, and it is by Allah's permission. Whoever believes in Allah, He will guide his heart. The reward for patience is Paradise. Allah commanded the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to be patient, and He commanded the believers to seek help through patience and prayer during calamities. The believer is rewarded in ease and hardship, and those who are patient have a noble standing with their Lord.
