Will the deceased be rewarded for the acts of obedience he performed during his lifetime if his children imitate them after him, and will he also be rewarded if they add to them?
One who calls to good receives a reward similar to the rewards of those who follow him, whether through words or actions, as stated in the : "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the rewards of those who follow him, without diminishing their rewards in the slightest..."
The Salaf used to emulate scholars in their words, actions, and even their demeanor.
Similarly, if someone emulates another in performing a good deed, the one being emulated receives a reward similar to the rewards of those who performed that good deed by emulating him, in fulfillment of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever introduces a good practice in Islam, and it is acted upon after him, will have a reward similar to the reward of those who acted upon it, without diminishing their rewards in the slightest."
Thus, "" in the Hadith includes good actions that are emulated, just like the man who initiated charity and was then followed by the people. Therefore, your father will hopefully be rewarded if you emulate him in good deeds.
