What is the ruling on breaking a vow made by saying "it is forbidden for me" (yaḥrum ʿalayya) when sitting in front of the computer and eating dinner?

Prohibiting what is lawful does not make anything unlawful, except for one's wife according to the Malikis, though there is disagreement regarding the necessity of expiation. These devices are a blessing from Allah Almighty, and one should seek help through them for what pleases Him. If a person cannot prevent themselves from falling into the unlawful except by completely getting rid of this technology and not acquiring its tools, then that becomes obligatory upon them, because it is a means to what is obligatory.
