Are the fiancé's family entitled to ask the suitor about his salary and specifically how much he earns?

It is permissible for the woman's guardian to inquire about the suitor's salary and financial standing because he acts in the woman's best interest, and it is among his duties to ensure the suitor's ability to provide for her. The Sunnah has indicated that guardianship is a trust that necessitates acting in what is most beneficial. Similarly, it is permissible for a man to marry for wealth or for a woman to marry for wealth, even though religion is the most important aspect. It is understood from the hadiths that financial attributes are considered among the objectives of marriage. It is authentically reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, indicated the rejection of a suitor due to his poverty. The inquiry should be made wisely, with the possibility of knowing the suitor's financial situation from the nature of his work.
