What is the ruling on the Hajj of parents who know that the money for Hajj is stolen, but have no authority over their son?
The thief must repent and dispose of the stolen money by returning it to its owner or their heirs. If that is not possible, he should give it away in charity on behalf of the owners, then give them the choice to accept it if he later becomes able to deliver it to them.
It is not permissible for the thief's parents to perform Hajj with this ill-gotten money, as long as they are aware of its illicit nature. If they do, the Hajj is valid, though sinful, according to the majority of scholars.
