Is it permissible to perform Hajj with money borrowed from the father, given that the father is in debt?
For Hajj to be obligatory, financial capability (Istita'ah) is a prerequisite. Whoever does not possess it is not obliged to perform Hajj. Even if his father gives him money for Hajj, it is not obligatory upon him, nor does he become financially capable by it. However, if the father takes out a loan to give his son so he can perform Hajj with it, the Hajj is valid, as it is not a condition for the validity of Hajj that the expenses come from the pilgrim's own money, nor that he be free of debt.
