Does a husband's saying to his wife, "If your son returns and does what he used to do, then only your family's house will send you back [to me]," constitute a conditional divorce, and what is the ruling on not naming the act or uttering the word of divorce?

This statement is a metaphor whose interpretation depends on the father's intention. If he intended it as a promise of divorce, or something other than divorce, then divorce does not occur. However, if he intended it as a conditional divorce, then if the questioner performs the aforementioned action, divorce occurs to her mother, and her father cannot retract this condition. Ibn Taymiyyah, however, holds the view that he has the right to retract.
