How can a Muslim seek forgiveness from a deceased relative whom he had emotionally wronged before their death?

If someone has wronged another with an emotional injustice, such as backbiting or mockery, they must seek their forgiveness during their lifetime. If the wronged person has died, there is no way to do so, but the wrongdoer should pray extensively for them, remember their good qualities in the gatherings where they were maligned, and ask Allah to forgive the wronged person and satisfy them. The wrongdoer's good deeds will not be taken, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever has wronged his brother concerning his honor or anything else, let him seek his forgiveness today before there are no dinars or dirhams, and good deeds will be taken from him for his brother. If he has no good deeds, then some of his brother’s evil deeds will be taken and cast upon him."
