How can forgiveness be sought from a deceased relative whose rights were transgressed, knowing that the transgressor was traveling at the time of the relative's death, and how does the satisfaction and forgiveness of the deceased manifest to the living?

The oppressor must initiate sincere repentance. If the injustice was material, then he must return the rights to the heirs of the wronged person, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Upon the hand is what it took until it returns it." If it was non-material, then he should frequently supplicate and seek forgiveness for the deceased, and it is hoped that this will be an atonement or alleviation of his rights.
