What is the ruling on shortening prayers (Salat al-Qasr) on Friday and on Friday prayer (Salat al-Jumu'ah)?

Shortening prayers (qasr) during travel is permissible, provided the journey is for a lawful purpose and its distance is not less than 83 kilometers, starting after the traveler has passed the houses of their village. A traveler may pray two rak'ahs for Dhuhr prayer on Friday instead of performing the Friday prayer (Jumu'ah). However, the intention to shorten the Jumu'ah prayer behind an imam is incorrect, and one must make up that prayer. Performing Jumu'ah prayer as a single rak'ah is not valid. As for combining Asr prayer with Jumu'ah prayer for a traveler, there is a difference of opinion on this matter.
