Where was the first minaret in Islam built?

Historians disagree on the first minaret built in Islam. Al-Baladhuri stated in "Futuh al-Buldan" that the first minaret was built by Ziyad ibn Abihi in Basra in the 45th year of the Hijra. Meanwhile, al-Maqrizi mentioned that the four towers of the Mosque of Amr ibn al-'As, built by Maslama ibn Mukhallad in Egypt in the 53rd year of the Hijra, were the first minarets in Islam.
