Whoever speaks ill of a person who has repented and become righteous is mistaken, an aggressor, and a sinner, because it is obligatory to conceal the repentant Muslim. It is advised to be patient and to frequently supplicate for well-being and concealment, and to recite the reported supplication: "O Allah, we place You against their throats and we seek refuge in You from their evils." It is also advised to assign virtuous people to remind him of Allah, and to threaten him with elevating the matter to someone who can restrain him if he does not desist. It is permissible to use allusions to deny what is being spread without lying, and she does not have the right to seek divorce except for a valid, legitimate reason. It is permissible to suggest to the husband the idea of moving away from the place.
