Does the order in Surat 'Abasa (He will flee from his brother, and his mother and his father, and his wife and his children) mean that the father is closer [to a person] than the mother, and how does this reconcile with the Hadith: "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father"? And can a noble Hadith contradict a Qur'anic verse?

There is no contradiction between the verses of the Quran or the Hadith because Allah denied the existence of any discrepancy within it. If an issue arises, scholars address it through various methods, including knowing the reason for revelation, collecting verses on the same topic, considering the context, and applying the rules of preference. The conjunction "wa" (and) in His (the Most High's) saying: "The Day a man will flee from his brother And his mother and his father" does not imply a chronological order or importance. The precedence given to the mother in the verse does not contradict the noble Hadith that emphasizes the mother's right; rather, it is a progression in demonstrating the horror [of that Day], and it may be due to her weakness and need, or to maintain the rhythmic breaks of the verses. Contradiction lies in understanding, not in the texts themselves.
