The answer

The major relationship between the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his Ummah is his message to them. He is their Messenger, their role model, and their intercessor. Texts indicate his brotherhood with the believers, as in the Almighty's saying: "The believers are nothing else than brothers." Furthermore, his fatherhood to us is established by the : "I am to you like a father, teaching you." This is a fatherhood in religion, not lineage, for every prophet is a father to his community in that he is the origin of eternal life. This fatherhood is not one of lineage, in confirmation of the Almighty's saying: "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men." This fatherhood and brotherhood are in terms of religion, compassion, mercy, and teaching.
