Is it permissible for the Adhan to be recited with short phrases, like the Iqama?

The Sunnah in the Adhan is to be deliberate and unhurried (tarsul and tamahhul) so that it is more effective in conveying the call and inviting those who are absent. This is a recommended act, not an obligatory one. So, if the Adhan is recited quickly (hadar), it is valid, provided the words are pronounced correctly, though it is contrary to what is most preferable. Deliberation and unhurriedness are among the manners and recommended acts of the Adhan, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "When you pronounce the Adhan, be deliberate (fatarassal), and when you pronounce the Iqamah, be quick (fahdur)." As for the Iqamah, it is recommended to be quick and swift (hadar and isra'). This ruling is agreed upon by scholars, and the Adhan is valid in any manner, even if it is contrary to what is most preferable.
