Must one make up for years of missed prayers after repentance, and is repentance accepted in this case?

Prayer is obligatory, and it is the second pillar of Islam. Missed prayers must be made up immediately, whether they were missed intentionally or out of forgetfulness. The making up of prayers continues until one is reasonably certain that the obligation has been fulfilled, without exaggerating in making them up to the extent that it harms one's body or livelihood. Sincere repentance for abandoning prayer is accepted, provided it meets its conditions of ceasing the act, feeling remorse, and resolving not to return to it.
