Is the variation in how seated worshipers in the mosque sit during the bowing (ruku'), prostration (sujud), and intermediate positions due to differences among the madhhabs, and what is the correct way in that regard? Is there a jurisprudential disagreement concerning how a seated worshiper should rise from bowing and sit between the two prostrations? Is he obligated to fully straighten his back when rising from bowing, whether he is able to stand or not? How should the posture be when rising from bowing and prostration? Should the inclination between the two prostrations be lower than bowing and higher than prostration? Is it necessary to arrange the distance between the different postures (rising from bowing, bowing, rising from prostration, prostration) based on the degree of inclination?

If a person prays sitting on the ground, it is sunnah for him to sit cross-legged while in the standing position, and his posture after bowing (ruku') should be the same as it was before it. His bowing (ruku') should be such that his face is level with the part of the ground behind his knees. He should prostrate (sajdah) on the ground if he is able; otherwise, he should bring his face as close to the ground as he can. Whoever is unable to stand or finds it severely difficult, prays sitting down, and it is commendable (mandub) for him to sit cross-legged. As for the sufficient limit for bowing (ruku') for one who is sitting, it is that his inclination should be closer to a moderate bowing than to a moderate standing. Anything more than that is considered in the meaning of standing. Similarly, for sitting between the two prostrations, its limit is that he should be sitting upright, and it is commendable (mandub) for him to sit with his left foot tucked under him (iftirash), but however he sits is sufficient. If someone is able to stand and bow but has an ailment that prevents him from sitting on the ground, he may sit on a chair. Otherwise, the basic principle is to sit on the ground and prostrate on it, but if he is unable, he should bring his face as close to the ground as possible.
