Am I, having no source of income, permitted to sponsor an orphan with my husband's money?

It is permissible for a woman to give charity from her husband's money if she knows he approves or if he has given her permission, and both she and her husband will be rewarded for it. This is based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "If a woman spends from the food of her house, without causing damage, she will have her reward for what she spent, and her husband will have his reward for what he earned." An exception to this is a small amount of food or money, which is customarily understood that she is not prohibited from disposing of it. However, sponsoring an orphan requires the husband's permission and approval.
