Will spending time browsing news and religious websites, and reading fatwas and Islamic articles, be considered a waste of time for which one will be questioned on the Day of Judgment, knowing that one only watches news, religious, and documentary channels on television?

Following up on what benefits a person in their religious or worldly affairs is not a waste of time. Rather, what is blameworthy is wasting it on what is of no benefit, especially if it involves something forbidden. A Muslim should utilize their time in what benefits them, prioritizing what is most important and most beneficial, for life is short and time is the believer's capital. Leisure is a blessing about which a person will be questioned on the Day of Judgment, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Two blessings in which many people are at a loss: health and free time." Wasting time is a divine punishment that arises from disobedience and heedlessness, and it is more severe than death because it severs the servant from Allah and the Hereafter. The two greatest wastes are the waste of the heart and the waste of time; the first results from preferring this world, and the second from prolonged hope.
