What is the ruling on publishing supplications composed by individuals, which they then disseminate in forums, and is it permissible for people to act upon what is stated therein, even if it does not contradict the creed?

The Islamic Sharia has permitted a Muslim to choose the supplication (du'a) that he finds most pleasing, based on the general statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Let each of you choose from the supplication that which is most pleasing to him, and then supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic." Therefore, there is no harm in supplicating with anything whose meaning is sound and does not contain any Sharia violation. However, it is not permissible to restrict it to a specific time, situation, place, or number, or to invite people to constantly adhere to it and consider it a regular Sunnah. It is better for a person to seek out the supplications from the Qur'an and Sunnah, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, "preferred comprehensive supplications and abandoned others." These are the supplications that combine the good of this world and the Hereafter, or combine praise of Allah and the etiquette of asking.
