Is affliction a sign of Allah's wrath, and is deprivation in this world a sign that repentance has not been accepted, while the facilitation of others' affairs indicates Allah's love for them?

Tribulation is not an indication of Allah's wrath; rather, it may be a sign of His love for His servant. If Allah loves a people, He afflicts them. One should renew repentance and avoid sins, as they are a cause for tribulations to descend and blessings to be lifted. A believer should not despair no matter what afflicts them, and they should have a good opinion of Allah and entrust their affairs to Him. Optimism is a characteristic of a believer and stems from their good opinion of Allah. There is no one who can remove harm except Allah, and there is no comfort for the heart except in obedience to Him. Therefore, the servant should turn to their Lord, renew repentance and supplication, and strive for righteous companionship. "Indeed, whoever is righteous and patient - then indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good."
