What is the ruling on a person who strives and circumambulates with people in the Haram for a high fee paid willingly by the pilgrim, knowing that this work benefits the elderly and the infirm, and is this money lawful?

It is permissible to work in the service of pilgrims (hujjaj) and visitors to the Sacred House (Bayt al-Haram) and to take a wage for it, provided that the wage is known, due to the prohibition by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, against hiring a worker until his wage is known. The prevailing custom and common practice are sufficient for determining the wage. One should be gentle with the pilgrims and not overcharge them.
