Is every disobedient person considered to have committed minor shirk merely by committing a sin, even if it is a minor one, due to obeying whims, the self, and Satan? And does this mean that most people are polytheists?

The minor shirk, according to the preponderant view, is limited to the sins that the Sharia has designated as shirk, such as showing off (riya') and swearing by other than Allah. Scholars have differed on its definition, with two opinions. One is that it is every act that serves as a means to major shirk. The other, which is the more preponderant, is that it is every sin that the Lawgiver has called shirk but does not reach the degree of major shirk. Minor shirk does not expel its perpetrator from the fold of Islam; rather, it is subject to Allah's will, and their ultimate destination is Paradise.
