What is the ruling on a man who marries with the intention of gratifying himself?
If a man marries with the intention of temporary pleasure (mut'ah), it is forbidden by consensus. However, if it is a legitimate marriage but with the intention of permissible enjoyment, there is no harm in that. And although pleasure has great purposes in Islam, such as building a family and increasing offspring, a Muslim should bear these in mind when marrying.
