What are the fifteen شرعي rulings pertaining to a menstruating woman?
Menstruation is blood that exits a woman's uterus at specific times, not due to illness. It has special rulings, which include: the prohibition of prayer, fasting, and circumambulation (); the prohibition of reciting the Quran and touching the Mus'haf (copy of the Quran); staying in the mosque; sexual intercourse with a menstruating woman in the vagina; I'tikaf (spiritual retreat); and divorce. Furthermore, it signifies puberty for young girls, completes the waiting period (') and confirms the absence of pregnancy (istibra'), necessitates (ritual bath), prevents the validity of devotional bathing (except for Hajj baths), and prohibits prostration of recitation ( at-tilawah) and prostration of gratitude (sujud ash-shukr).
