What is the ruling on a husband who refuses to give his wife her share from the sale of land he bought with her, claiming it is his money, after he had promised her that?

If a husband gifts half a plot of land to his wife, then retracts his gift, such retraction is forbidden unless the gift was from a parent to their child. If the wife did not take possession of the gift, the majority of scholars permit retraction, while Malik believes it becomes binding simply upon the contract. If the wife already owns a portion of the land, the husband must pay her the price of that portion; otherwise, he would be an usurper, and his action would contradict the Almighty’s saying: "And live with them in kindness."
