Is God's not answering my continuous supplication, despite my prayers and night vigils, an indication that I am cursed and banished from God's mercy because of plucking my eyebrows? Does this mean that God does not answer one whom He has cursed? What if I do not repent? Is it possible that God will not answer the disobedient and the cursed?
You must offer sincere repentance and abandon plucking eyebrows (al-Nams) because it is a forbidden act. The taunts of people will not harm you. You may bleach your eyebrows. Disobedience may prevent the answer to prayer, as sustenance may be withheld due to sin. However, do not despair of Allah's mercy, for Allah may answer your prayer out of His grace, and that could be by providing reward on the Day of Judgment or averting evil from you. Hasten to repent, for it is of greater benefit. There is no harm in trimming the eyebrows for extreme necessity, based on the opinion of some jurists.
