Is it permissible to perform the adhan and iqama in the newborn's ears via phone if the father is in another country?

There is no impediment to the father making the Adhan and Iqamah in his son's ear via phone. However, it is preferable for this to be done directly, and it is not a condition that the father be the one to do it.
