Zayd ibn Harithah's wife (may Allah be pleased with him) was Umm Ayman, Barakah bint Tha'labah al-Habashiyyah, the foster mother of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the mother of Usamah ibn Zayd. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) inherited her from his father or mother and freed her. She embraced Islam early on and migrated twice. Zayd had previously married Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), then he divorced her, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) married her.
