I am not aware of any basis for this name in the Sunnah, so it should not be used. Perhaps those who named it so considered the momentousness of the occasion and Allah’s forgiveness and mercy towards the pilgrims. It is more appropriate to say: Mount Arafat, or the mountain where the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stood.
