Can the Hadith "My Ummah will split..." be interpreted as "Ummah" therein meaning the Ummah of conveying (Ummat al-Tabligh) and not the Ummah of response (Ummat al-Istijabah), and accordingly, that Muslims, with their various sects and madhhabs, are the single, saved group?

It is narrated in the authentic Hadith that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Jews split into seventy-one sects, and the Christians split into seventy-two sects, and this Ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of them in the Fire except one." This one is "whoever is upon what I and my Companions are upon," or "it is the Jama'ah." Some scholars have mentioned that the intended meaning of "Ummah" in the Hadith is the Ummah of Da'wah (those invited to Islam), and that the Ummah of Ijabah (those who responded to the call) is the saved sect. However, Al-San'ani approved of this interpretation. Nevertheless, the Hadith speaks about the future, which contradicts the notion that the Ummah of Da'wah is intended. Furthermore, comparing them to the Jews and Christians, who are from the Ummah of Da'wah, indicates that only the Ummah of Ijabah is meant.
