What is the ruling on denouncing evil committed by an absent person, such as shaving beards and listening to musical instruments? And is it permissible to denounce evil committed by a deceased person by publishing his picture while he was committing the evil?

Denial (of evil) must always be done by the heart. As for the tongue, it is by mentioning the prohibition of the act without specifying the doer. The deceased, however, does not benefit from advice, and the principle is to mention them only with good, based on the hadith: "Do not mention your deceased except with good." This is unless they were an example in evil, in which case their error is explained for warning, just as the Muhaddithun (scholars of Hadith) did when critiquing narrators. Similarly, Al-Manawi and Ibn Hazm clarified that condemnation is permissible for those other than disbelievers and those who openly display wickedness or innovation, with the aim of warning.
