Is it permissible to supplicate for worldly matters—such as asking for offspring—when passing by verses of supplication during prayer, whether I am praying alone or in congregation?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on the congregant raising their hands when the Imam recites. Some have deemed it recommendable (mustahabb), others disliked it (makrooh), and some differentiated, considering it recommendable for supererogatory (nafilah) prayers but not for obligatory (fard) prayers. There appears to be no impediment to the aforementioned supplication (du'a) when adopting the view of permissibility or recommendability.
