Trusts are not guaranteed except in cases of transgression or negligence, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no guarantee upon one entrusted." A deposit is a trust. If it perishes without the negligence of the trustee, then there is no guarantee upon him. Based on this, there is no guarantee upon you to the owner of the item. It is advised to consult scholars for further details.
