The most important features of Islamic legislation are that it achieves happiness in both this world and the Hereafter, and that it is comprehensive of all life affairs, just, merciful, facilitative, wise, valid for every time and place, and concerned with both this world and the Hereafter.
As for its divisions, they are many, including: acts of worship, personal status, transactions, inheritances, crimes, and prescribed punishments (hudud).
