Is a man who is lame and unable to bend his legs to be put forward for the imamate, even if he is the most qualified for the imamate?

If a man is more knowledgeable and better than others in recitation, he has precedence in leading the prayer, even if he is lame and cannot bend his legs in prostration and sitting. This deficiency does not invalidate his imamate as long as he does not neglect any of his obligatory duties in prayer, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who recites the Book of Allah best should lead the people."
