Is it permissible for a wife to deceive her husband into undergoing a Cesarean section, by making a false claim, out of fear of natural childbirth and a desire to delay another pregnancy, despite her husband's wish for the continuation of offspring?

A woman whose husband desires children is not permitted to resort to deception to prevent pregnancy without a legitimate Shar'i (Islamic legal) excuse. Temporary birth control is permissible to space pregnancies or to stop them for a certain period if there is a recognized Shar'i need, and with consultation and mutual consent between the spouses. If there is an excuse, such as harm resulting from pregnancy or unbearable hardship, and the husband does not permit delaying pregnancy, then she has the right to do so without his knowledge, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There should be no harm nor reciprocating harm." Scholars have stipulated the permissibility for a woman to refuse sexual intercourse with her husband if it causes her harm, as long as it does not distract her from her obligatory duties or harm her. A woman is not permitted to abandon natural childbirth and choose a Cesarean section to delay pregnancy, as there are easy methods like birth control pills, and a Cesarean section is a surgical procedure resorted to only out of necessity.
